This branch sits inside The Peninsula Manila, on the corner of Ayala and Makati Avenues. The door is on the lobby level, beside the staircase, which is worth knowing because it is easy to walk past.
Below is what is performed here, described in enough detail to tell whether it is the right treatment for you. Every course begins with a free consultation, and the consultation is where we say if a different treatment suits your skin better, or if what you have needs a dermatologist rather than a clinic.
Diamond Peel
Diamond peel is the most requested resurfacing facial in the Philippines and the one most people start with. A wand tipped with medical grade diamond particles passes over the skin under gentle suction and lifts the dead surface layer that dulls the complexion and blocks pores. No acid is applied and nothing is heated, which is why it suits skin that reacts badly to chemical peels.
Manila builds that layer faster than most cities. Heat, humidity, daily sun protection and pollution leave a film a home cleanser will not shift, and the result is skin that photographs grey and foundation that sits on top rather than in. One session removes it. Texture improves the same day, and serums applied afterwards reach living skin instead of a barrier of dead cells.
Sixty minutes, no downtime, and skin is faintly pink for an hour at most. Most clients return every three to four weeks, which matches how quickly skin renews itself.
PicoLaser
PicoLaser delivers energy in trillionths of a second. Because each pulse is that short, pigment is shattered mechanically rather than burned away, and the surrounding skin takes far less heat than it would from an older laser. On Filipino skin tones that difference matters, since heat is what drives the rebound darkening that makes some pigment treatments backfire.
At Peninsula it is used for sun spots, acne marks, uneven tone and tattoo removal. It is also the engine behind two of the treatments below, so the consultation usually starts by deciding which protocol your skin needs rather than which machine it goes under.
Carbon Laser Facial
A carbon layer is applied to the face, allowed to settle into the pores, then lifted with a laser pass that takes the carbon and the congestion out with it. The treatment refines pores, clears oil and evens out tone in a single session.
It is popular before events for one practical reason: there is no downtime and no peeling, so skin looks better the same evening rather than three days later. Clients with oily or congested skin often run it alongside a diamond peel across the month, one for the surface and one for the pores.
Melasma Treatment
Melasma is not the same as sun damage, and treating it as though it were is the most common reason people spend years without progress. It sits deeper, it is usually symmetrical across the cheekbones or above the lip, it is driven by hormones as much as by light, and it darkens in response to heat. Pregnancy and the pill both bring it on.
That last property is why an aggressive brightening course can leave melasma worse than it started. The protocol here is deliberately conservative, built on PicoLaser with topical support, and it is a programme rather than an appointment. Melasma recurs without maintenance, so sun protection and follow-up are part of the treatment, not advice attached to the end of it.
We will tell you at the consultation whether what you have is melasma or sun damage. They look alike in a mirror and they need different answers.
Underarm Whitening
Darkened underarms are one of the most common things people ask about here and one of the least discussed openly. The cause is almost never poor hygiene. Shaving irritates the skin and the skin answers with pigment. Friction from tight sleeves does the same. Deodorants and depilatory creams inflame skin that is thin to begin with, and every episode of inflammation on Filipino skin leaves a mark behind.
The treatment works on two fronts. Gentle exfoliation clears the pigmented surface layer, brightening actives slow the melanin production underneath, and where the pigment sits deeper we use a laser rather than pushing harder on the surface. Scrubbing harder is what most people try first and it makes the darkening worse, because the friction is part of the cause.
Most clients see a change after three sessions. Holding it depends on what changes at home, so the consultation covers the razor, the deodorant and the sleeve width as seriously as it covers the protocol.
One thing worth knowing before you book. Skin that is dark, thickened and velvety to the touch across the underarm and the back of the neck can be acanthosis nigricans, which is linked to insulin resistance and belongs with a doctor rather than a clinic. We check for it at the consultation and we will say so.
Eye Bag Treatment
Skin around the eye is roughly a third the thickness of the cheek and carries almost no oil glands, so it shows fatigue before anywhere else and creases first. It is also the area where people most often treat the wrong thing.
Under-eye darkness has three separate causes that need opposite answers. Shadow is cast by a hollow and lightens when you tilt your face up towards a light. Pigment sits in the skin and stays dark whatever the lighting. Vascular darkness is the blue of vessels showing through skin too thin to hide them, and it worsens when you are tired or dehydrated. Brightening cream applied to a shadow does nothing, which is where most disappointment with eye products comes from.
The treatment is non-invasive. Nothing is cut, injected or frozen, and there is no bruising, so makeup goes on the same day. Puffiness usually reads better immediately. Texture and fine lines answer over a course. A true hollow is a volume problem and significant loose skin is surgical, and we will say so rather than sell a course that cannot deliver.
What is not performed at this branch
Permanent makeup, including brows, lips and eyeliner, is performed at our Reverie branch and not here. Laser hair removal runs under the Elevatione brand at Centuria Medical Makati. Booking either one at Peninsula means a wasted trip, so we would rather say it on this page than at the door.
Cystic acne and deep pitted scarring are treated by a dermatologist. A facial will make that skin feel better without treating the condition, and we will tell you so at the consultation.
