Eye Bags and Dark Circles in Makati: Which Ones a Clinic Can Fix
Four different problems arrive at our door under the same name. Puffiness that comes and goes with salt and sleep. Shadow cast by the hollow beneath the eye. Brown pigment sitting in thin skin. And fat pads that have pushed forward and stay forward whatever you do.
They look similar in a mirror at arm's length and behave nothing alike under treatment. A clinic that quotes you a package before separating them is guessing, and you will find out which one you had after you have paid.

What a session is like
The consultation starts with a look at your under-eye in good light and a question about how it behaves through the day. The category decides the plan.
Sixty minutes. The eye area is cleansed, light therapy runs, and the session finishes with a cool compress. No downtime and no makeup restrictions afterwards.
Between sessions the work is unglamorous: sleep, salt, allergies and not rubbing. It is also where most of the visible change comes from.
When this is the wrong treatment
Herniated fat pads
If the bulge is identical morning and night, no machine reaches it. We say so and lose the sale rather than run six sessions against anatomy.
Active eye allergies
Rubbing beats any course we could run. Settle the allergy first, then treat the skin.
A holiday on Friday
The eye area answers slowly and does not respond to urgency. For an event this week, sleep and a good concealer beat anything we could book you.
How it actually works
Puffiness that changes through the day
Fluid, not fat. It is worse on waking, worse after a salty dinner, worse in a week of bad sleep, and better by the afternoon. Lymphatic work and light therapy move it out faster and the skin holds tighter, but the reason it came back on Thursday is the same reason it will come back next Thursday. This is the one honest clinics undersell and the one most easily improved.
Shadow from a hollow
Press gently under your eye. If the darkness sits in a groove rather than on the surface, you are looking at a shadow, and no amount of brightening moves a shadow. Firming the skin above it helps a little. Filling the hollow is a filler question for a doctor. Nobody should be selling you a whitening course for this.
Pigment in thin skin
Genuine brown pigment, common in Filipino skin and worse after years of rubbing, allergies or sun. This answers to careful brightening and to light-based work, and it is slow. Under-eye skin is the thinnest on the body, so aggressive treatment here buys you more pigment rather than less.
Fat pads that have herniated
The bulge stays the same at 7am and 7pm, and it does not change with sleep. The fat has pushed through the membrane that used to hold it. Skin tightening will not push it back. This is lower blepharoplasty, a surgeon's operation, and any clinic promising to remove it with a machine is selling you six sessions of disappointment.

Light and biophoton therapy
What we run for the eye area. It works on circulation, on fluid and on the quality of thin skin rather than by heating tissue, which is why it is usable this close to the eye.
Radiofrequency
Good on the cheek and jaw, used with restraint around the eye. Heat on skin this thin is not a stronger version of the same thing.
Fillers and surgery
We do not perform either. For a hollow or a herniated pad we will tell you what you are looking at and leave the referral to you rather than sell you the nearest thing we happen to own.

Ask this first and ask it in these words. A clinic that answers with a package name rather than a description of your under-eye has not looked.
Does mine change through the day?
Photograph yourself on waking and at six in the evening. Fluid moves, fat does not. This one test tells you more than most consultations.
What happens if it is the hollow?
The honest answer is that we can improve the skin and not the shadow, and that a filler is a doctor's decision. Anyone who says the machine handles it is not describing anatomy.
How many sessions, and what do I do at home?
Under-eye work is slow. If nobody mentions sleep, salt, allergies or how hard you rub your eyes, you are being sold a room and not a plan.

Why are my dark circles worse in photos?
Overhead light deepens the shadow under a hollow. If your circles look far worse in a lift or a bathroom mirror than in daylight, you are probably looking at shadow rather than pigment.
Do eye creams help?
A good one helps pigment slowly and helps hydration. Nothing in a jar moves a herniated fat pad or fills a hollow.
