RF Skin Tightening in Makati: What Radiofrequency Can and Cannot Tighten
Radiofrequency skin tightening heats the layer of skin just below the surface. Collagen contracts when it warms, and over the following months the skin builds new collagen in response. The result is firmer, smoother skin with less crepiness, arriving gradually rather than overnight.
Two things to say before anything else. Our treatment is called Thermagical RF, and it is not Thermage. Thermage is a trademarked monopolar RF device made by one company, and it is priced far higher. The names sound alike and we would rather you hear the difference from us.

What a session is like
The consultation looks at where the laxity is and whether RF or HIFU fits it better. We say so if the other one does.
Sixty minutes. The handpiece glides over the skin and the warmth builds gradually. Most people describe it as a hot stone massage.
Skin can look pink for an hour. No downtime, and you can wear makeup the same day. Sunscreen as always.
When this is the wrong treatment
Pacemakers and implanted electronic devices
Radiofrequency is not used on anyone with an implanted electronic device. Tell us at booking.
Pregnancy, and metal implants in the treated area
We do not treat during pregnancy or over metal implants in the face.
Heavy sagging
RF firms skin quality. It will not lift loose skin that has dropped, and a surgeon is the honest answer for that.
How it actually works
Where RF works
In the dermis, the skin itself. It improves texture, fine crepiness and mild laxity across a broad area of the face or neck.
How that differs from HIFU
HIFU focuses ultrasound into small points at deeper depths, including the layer surgeons tighten in a facelift, which is why it can lift a jawline or brow. RF heats more broadly and more shallowly. HIFU lifts, RF firms. Many faces benefit from one more than the other, and some from both a few months apart.
Why results take months
The heat triggers your own collagen production, and that takes eight to twelve weeks to show. The skin can look tighter in the first days, partly from mild swelling, before the real change arrives.

Heats deepest of the RF devices and is usually done as a single session. Thermage is the best-known brand and sits at the top of the price range.
Bipolar and multipolar RF
Heats a shallower, more controlled area. Usually planned as a series of sessions, with a lower price per visit.

Delivers RF through fine needles and treats texture and scarring as well as firmness. More downtime, a different treatment.

When you compare clinics, ask for the device name and whether the price is for one session or a series. A single branded monopolar session and one visit from a series are not the same purchase.

Is Thermagical RF the same as Thermage?
No. Thermage is a trademarked device from one company. Ours is a different radiofrequency system with a similar-sounding name, and we say that plainly.

HIFU reaches deeper and suits lifting a jawline or brow. RF works in the skin itself and suits texture, crepiness and mild laxity.
When will I see results?
Some tightening shows early, partly from swelling. The collagen change builds over two to three months.
