Skin Brightening in Makati: What Can Be Changed and What Cannot
Two different things are sold under the word whitening. One is removing pigment your skin made in response to sun, heat, friction or inflammation, and returning you to your own baseline. That is real, it works, and it is what we do.
The other is changing the colour you were born with. Nothing safe does that, and most of the harm done in this market comes from products and drips sold on the promise that something can.
So the honest version of this treatment is narrower than the advertising and considerably more likely to work.
What a session is like
The consultation separates what pigment you have and where it sits, and asks what you are already using. Bring the products.
Sixty minutes. Cleanse, the treatment itself, then a calming serum and sunscreen before you walk back out into the day.
Between sessions the work is sunscreen every morning and reapplied, your topical, and patience. The change is cumulative and looks like nothing until it suddenly looks like something.
When this is the wrong treatment
Anyone expecting to change their natural colour
We will tell you what is achievable at the consultation. If that is not what you came for, we would rather say so than take the booking.
Melasma
Different condition, different rules, and heat provokes it. There is a separate protocol and we move you to it.
Skin currently on an unregulated whitening cream
We stop the cream first. Working over an unknown product, particularly an imported one with no local registration, is not something we do.
How it actually works
Excess pigment versus your baseline
Sun exposure, heat, friction and old inflammation all leave pigment behind. Clear that and skin looks brighter and more even, sometimes markedly. What stays is your natural tone, and no clinic can move that line without doing damage.
Where the pigment sits decides the method
Surface pigment answers to exfoliation, brightening actives and vitamin C. Deeper pigment needs a laser. Melasma is a separate condition with its own rules and gets worse under heat, so it needs its own protocol rather than a general brightening course.
Sunscreen does most of the work
This is the least interesting sentence on the page and the most important one. In Manila, without daily sunscreen reapplied through the day, any brightening course spends money reversing what the last two weeks put back.
Why intravenous glutathione is not on our menu
The Philippine FDA has issued advisories on this. No injectable glutathione product is approved in the Philippines for skin lightening, the approved indication is as an adjunct in cisplatin chemotherapy, and the agency has flagged risks to the liver, kidneys, thyroid and nervous system along with severe skin reactions. We do not offer it, and a clinic that does is working outside what the regulator has approved.
What is in the cream matters more than the label
Mercury is banned in cosmetics above 1 part per million under the ASEAN Cosmetic Directive. The Philippine FDA has repeatedly banned imported whitening products found at thousands of times that level. If a cream lightens skin dramatically in two weeks, that is the thing to worry about rather than the thing to buy.
The machines on this market, including the ones we do not run
Picosecond laser
For pigment sitting below the surface. Short pulses shatter pigment with less accumulated heat, which is what makes it usable on Filipino skin without provoking rebound darkening.
Brightening facials and vitamin C infusion
For surface tone, dullness and the general sallowness that comes from sun and pollution. Steady rather than dramatic, and safe to repeat.
Topical actives
Azelaic acid, niacinamide, retinoids, prescription options through a doctor. The part of the plan that runs while you are not in the clinic, which is most of the time.
What it costs in Makati, 2026
Our list prices are ₱14,900 for the brightening course and ₱6,900 for the vitamin C infusion, both sixty minutes. Introductory rates run for most of the year.
The cheapest thing on this page is sunscreen, and it decides more of the outcome than the machine does.
Five questions to ask any clinic, including us
What exactly are you lightening?
Excess pigment or my natural colour. Only one of those is possible, and a clinic that blurs the two is selling a result it cannot deliver.
Do you offer IV glutathione, and under what approval?
Worth asking anywhere. No injectable glutathione is approved in the Philippines for skin lightening, so the answer tells you how the clinic treats regulation generally.
Is this melasma?
If it is, a general brightening course is the wrong plan and heat will make it worse. Melasma has its own protocol and we move people to it.
What holds the result?
Sunscreen, reapplied, plus maintenance sessions. Without the first one the second is a subscription rather than a treatment.
These are the list prices. We run promotions through most of the year, so call or message for today's rate and for course pricing. The consultation is free either way.
How far it is from where you are
Distances measured from the door, not estimated.
Ayala Avenue and the CBD
Four minutes on foot. A brightening course is a series of visits, and proximity is what makes people finish one.
Salcedo and Legazpi Village
Eight and thirteen minutes on foot.
Greenbelt, Glorietta and One Ayala
Eight to eleven minutes.
Poblacion, Rockwell and Century City
Twelve to eighteen minutes. Century City has its own ICONIQUE branch on Kalayaan Avenue.
Where to find us in Makati
The lobby at Peninsula Manila, Makati Ave, Makati City, 1226 Metro Manila.
The entrance is on the hotel lobby level, beside the staircase.
Open daily, 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM.
Call or message +63 917 634 5259. The consultation is free, and it is where we say whether this is the right treatment for your skin or whether it is not.
Our list prices are ₱14,900 for the brightening course and ₱6,900 for the vitamin C infusion, each sixty minutes, with introductory rates through most of the year.
Can treatment make me permanently fairer than my natural skin?
No. What a clinic can do is clear pigment your skin made in response to sun, heat, friction or inflammation, which returns you to your own baseline and reads as brighter and more even.
Do you offer glutathione drips?
No. The Philippine FDA has not approved any injectable glutathione for skin lightening and has issued advisories about the risks, so it is not something we offer.
Are whitening creams safe?
Registered ones with known actives are. Mercury is banned above 1 part per million in cosmetics under the ASEAN Cosmetic Directive, and the Philippine FDA has banned imported products found far above that. A cream that works dramatically in two weeks is a reason for suspicion.
How long before I see a difference?
Surface tone changes within a few sessions. Deeper pigment takes months, and holding it takes sunscreen.
Where exactly is the clinic?
Inside The Peninsula Manila, corner of Ayala Avenue and Makati Avenue, on the lobby level.
