Acne Treatment in Makati: What a Clinic Fixes and What Needs a Doctor
The most useful thing a clinic can tell you about acne is when to go somewhere else. Clogged pores, blackheads and the small surface breakouts that come with humidity and sunscreen answer well to what we do. Deep, painful cysts along the jaw do not, and treating them with facials wastes months and leaves scars.
Manila makes this harder than the textbooks assume. Heat and humidity keep oil production high year-round, sunscreen and makeup sit on skin for twelve-hour days, and masks and helmets add friction along the exact lines where breakouts concentrate.
So the plan starts by naming what you actually have.
What a session is like
The consultation looks at what kind of acne you have, where it sits, and what you are already using. Bring the products, or photograph the labels.
Sixty minutes. Cleanse, soften, extract where extraction is appropriate, then calm the skin and finish with light therapy. Some redness for a few hours.
Between visits the routine matters more than the room. Sunscreen every morning, even indoors in this city, and hands off the face.
When this is the wrong treatment
Cystic and nodular acne
Deep tender lumps need a dermatologist and usually medication. We say so at the consultation instead of booking six sessions against them.
An event this weekend
Extraction before a wedding is how people arrive at the wedding red. If the date is this week we will tell you to wait until after.
Skin in the first weeks of isotretinoin
It changes how skin handles friction and heat. Treatment waits until your doctor says otherwise.
How it actually works
Congestion and comedones
Blackheads, whiteheads, that sandpaper texture across the forehead and chin. Pores blocked with oil and dead cells. Extraction, controlled exfoliation and oil management handle this well, and the change shows within a session or two.
Surface inflammatory breakouts
Red papules and small pustules that come and go. Treatable in a clinic alongside a routine that stops feeding them. Light therapy helps the bacterial side, and consistency does more than intensity.
Nodules and cysts
Deep, tender lumps that last weeks and leave marks. These live below where any facial reaches. They need a dermatologist, usually medication, sometimes isotretinoin. A clinic that puts you on a six-session facial package for cystic acne is selling you scars.
What is left afterwards
Most people who come to us about acne actually arrive with two problems: the acne and the marks it left. The brown marks are post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and they fade, slowly, and faster with treatment. Indented scars are texture, not pigment, and they answer to different work entirely.
The machines on this market, including the ones we do not run
Clinical facials and extraction
The core of congestion work. Done properly it is unglamorous and effective. Done aggressively it spreads inflammation, which is why we do not extract through an active flare.
LED light therapy
Blue light targets the bacteria involved in inflammatory acne, red light calms. Useful as support across a course rather than as a headline treatment on its own.
Picosecond laser, for afterwards
For the brown marks acne leaves behind, once the acne itself is settled. Running a laser over active inflammation treats the wrong thing at the wrong time.
What it costs in Makati, 2026
Our list prices are ₱7,900 for the acne facial and ₱11,900 for the acne management course, both sixty minutes. Introductory rates run for most of the year, so ask for today's.
Acne is a course, not a session, whoever you go to. A single facial before an event will not change the pattern, and any plan quoted without a look at your skin is a guess.
Five questions to ask any clinic, including us
Which kind of acne do I have?
Congestion, surface inflammation or cystic. The answer decides whether you belong in a clinic or a dermatologist's room, and a clinic that will not draw that line is not one to trust with your face.
What are you doing about the marks?
Brown marks and indented scars are different problems with different answers. Ask which you have. Many people are sold pigment treatment for texture and get nothing for their money.
What am I changing at home?
Cleanser, sunscreen, what you put on at night, and how often you touch your face. In this climate a clinic-only plan is a plan that stops working the day the course ends.
When do I stop and see a doctor?
Ask for the specific trigger, before you start. Ours is deep painful lumps, marks that keep forming, or three months without a clear direction of travel.
These are the list prices. We run promotions through most of the year, so call or message for today's rate and for course pricing. The consultation is free either way.
How far it is from where you are
Distances measured from the door, not estimated.
Ayala Avenue and the CBD
Four minutes on foot. Acne work is a course of regular visits, and a clinic on your own block is the one you keep coming to.
Salcedo and Legazpi Village
Eight and thirteen minutes on foot.
Greenbelt, Glorietta and One Ayala
Eight to eleven minutes.
Poblacion, Rockwell and Century City
Twelve to eighteen minutes. Century City has its own ICONIQUE branch on Kalayaan Avenue.

Our list prices are ₱7,900 for the acne facial and ₱11,900 for the acne management course, each sixty minutes, with introductory rates through most of the year.
Can a facial clear cystic acne?
No. Cysts sit deeper than a facial reaches. That is a dermatologist's job and usually needs medication, and we will tell you so rather than sell you a package.
Why do I break out more in Manila?
Heat and humidity keep oil production high all year, and long days under sunscreen, makeup and mask friction do the rest. The routine that worked in a cooler climate often does not hold here.
How long before I see a difference?
Congestion improves within a session or two. Inflammatory acne is a matter of months, not weeks, and anyone promising faster is describing a milder problem than yours.
Will the dark marks go away?
Post-inflammatory marks fade on their own over months and faster with treatment once the acne is settled. Indented scars are texture and need different work.
Where exactly is the clinic?
Inside The Peninsula Manila, corner of Ayala Avenue and Makati Avenue, on the lobby level.
